I gave up waiting for the new gen heating controls after two years of waiting. If your LED strips don’t draw that much you need to buy a different one. Dave 1, 4 Mains dimmable constant voltage LED drivers do exist. When will the new gen dimmers be available? Hopefully changing the transformer to a dimmable one will allow the LightwaveRF switch to function. Some bulbs have better circuitry to improve the situation.

If you turn the dimmer to full brightness before you turn it on do you still have problems? I gave up waiting for the new gen heating controls after two years of waiting. Would this one be suitable? Wifi link, plug in adapter’s, wall and mood switches.
Calculate the power draw and find your driver. The flicker does vary from bulb to bulb, but is inherently a problem with the way the LED bulbs work. They recommended this resistive load 10W Resistive Load. I’m guessing due to the resistive load not being enough. I’m not sure my lights would pull that?? When I connect the lights to the dimmer the LEDs just flash on quickly and then off for around 1 second and then back on quickly.

I ligghtwaverf the same problem, so returned them and got and bought from ledhut instead and my setup now runs fine. I’ve found this one. After doing some reading on this someone mentioned putting a ‘resistive load’ in circuit I presume with the mains coming in to the transformer?
The users who voted to close gave this specific reason: Is this a faulty dimmer?
If your LED strips don’t draw that much you need to buy a different one. Thirdly, does anyone who understands why this isn’t working have any other solutions for getting this to work? If you can put up with the halogen looking different you are nowhere near the max load with one halogen and seven LEDs.
Yes you should attach the resistive load between the LED transformer and main well, in parallel with the LED mains input to be more precise.

Yes this does work. Some have been waiting longer!
Attempting to dim it leads to it trying to compensate for the dropping voltage until it is unable to do so, causing the on-off behaviour. March 8, at Will a resistive load make LightwaveRF dimmer work with 30W transformer?

Viewing 6 posts – 1 through 6 of 6 total. Hi I am looking to kit out my house with lightwave gear next week. Built using the following technologies: I’m lightwsverf that lightwaveRF also does as well. The dimmers in my house all use triacs. Fortunately, the LED hut lamps recommended on here would work perfectly ped in you set up. Please remember to check out the price comparison guide on this site and lev possible, purchase your new kit and lamps by clicking throught the links here.
With ledhut bulbs you can use as little as two in a circuit with no flickering. I use this resistive load trick all the time Although, I just use one regular incandescent light bulb on the AC line and have the rest be LEDs.
